VVZ CR n/a

Last Updated: 2026-06-01 11:30:45

Abstract

The inner working of the R&D organization is investigated. Roles and processes are explored.

Objective

This course aims to develop the participants’ ability to articulate a coherent plan for R&D activities linked to a corporation's business needs and to create the environment for an efficient R&D organization.

Content

In most organizations, the R&D organization is substantial to implement the innovation to be brought to the market. In this module, we investigate the inner workings of the R&D organization by exploring roles and processes. Since R&D almost always starts with significant uncertainties and unsolved technical problems, governing R&D has to account for these unknowns. As R&D processes take time, the market environment may change in ways other than predicted at the beginning of a project. Even after the completion of a development, R&D plays an important role in the evolution of the offering.
