Abstract

The course provides a condensed overview on physical medicine and different rehabilitation types (geriatric, internistic and oncological, cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, neurological, pediatric, paraplegiologic, psychosomatic, pulmonal), as well as main challenges and future trends from a clinical perspective. Students will have opportunity to gain insight into rehabilitation clinics on-site.

Objective

Students will - understand how the Swiss rehabilitation landscape is built and financed - get to know the different rehabilitation types, their specific challenges and discuss potential solutions - comprehend future trends in rehabilitation and identify required actions - gain insight into rehabilitation clinics and hands-on experience

Compulsory Continuous Performance Assessment: Mandatory visit of one rehabilitation clinic incl. written reflection. The compulsory continuous performance assessment is ungraded (pass/fail) but must be passed to take the written examination. The written examination contributes 100% to the overall grade.
