Abstract

The course will position teams and leadership in teams as core to high-performance work systems. An overview of human resource management practices from the perspective of operational andstrategic ledership will be provided. Prerequisites for effective working in teams and the roles of leaders for providing these prerequisites will be discussed.

Objective

Know core leadership functions and discuss how they relate to increasing organizational agility Know human resource management practices for high performance Know principles of work design aimed at promoting high intrinsic motivation Know key social processes in teams and reflect on how leadership impacts those Discuss advantages and challenges of diverse teams Apply knowledge on group dynamics and leadership functions in practical exercises Reflect on drivers and constraints for effective leadership Deepen knowledge on a self-selcted topic in a group project
