Abstract

Climate change is impacting every part of the globe, but these impacts are not felt equally. Lower-income countries, though least responsible, bear the greatest burden. Climate change has become central to the international sustainable development agenda, and practitioners must understand its challenges to foster global cooperation.

Objective

After completing the course, participants will be able to: - Systematically and inclusively assess all elements of climate change related risk/potential climate impacts in specific contexts. - Apply frameworks & methods to identify potential adaptation/resilience interventions in specific contexts. - Critically discuss major sources and sinks of GHG emissions and potential interventions to reduce emissions in developing country contexts. - Analyse climate change related polices at the national and international level. - Apply tools to mainstream climate change considerations in development project. - Critically discuss issues related to climate finance and identify potential sources of development related climate finance.
