Abstract
The module focuses on methods for intervening in complex systems, emphasizing diverse tools and scientific approaches. It covers navigating challenges through various techniques, methods, and practices to innovate systems resilience and regeneration.
Objective
The learning objective of the module on systemic innovation is to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and practices that are beneficial to innovate in complex systems towards their design of resilience and regeneration. This involves understanding various methods and approaches for systemic intervention, navigating different ways of enacting change, utilizing scientific methods, and developing inner tools and practices to deal with challenges such as trauma, frustration, and disconnection from society. The aim is to empower learners to identify opportunities for innovation within complex systems and to work towards resilience and regeneration. The learning objective assessment starts in the preceding MOOC with a multiple-choice quiz. To pass, 70 percent of the questions must be answered correctly across all modules. Active attendance in the live sessions with experts is also required for each module. In addition, the Quest’s progress is monitored continuously in the peer-learning process and through individual discussions with the lecturers.

The module explores the concept of Living Systems Labs, experimental spaces dedicated to experimenting with and fostering systemic innovation. These labs serve as environments for experimentation and collaboration, where participants can explore innovative ideas and approaches to addressing complex challenges. Overall, the module emphasizes the importance of innovating towards resilience and regeneration within social-ecological systems, aiming to design systems that are adaptive, sustainable, and capable of thriving in the face of uncertainty and change.
