Abstract

The seminar for MAS students focuses on the topic of building consultation from the perspective of monument preservation. Based on specific examples, heritage preservation positions will be discussed with guests from the field. In terms of content, the seminar builds on knowledge from the previous autumn semester.

Objective

The aim of the seminar is the practical application of the knowledge acquired in the previous semester, both on the theory of monument preservation as well as on the working methods of the preservation of monuments. In the seminar, the students will become familiar with the perspective of architectural practice. Through a specific task the development and communication of a position towards the preservation of an object will be practiced.

Content

The seminar includes site visits, discussions with guests from the field of heritage preservation (monument preservationists, architects and restorers), as well as a practical task on a built object. By means of individual research and regular exchange with the seminar participants, as well as discussions with the invited guests, the content required for the task is developed in written and designed form.
