Critical Reflection Upon the Economic Growth Paradigm

Abstract
In each seminar session, a scientific text on the topic of economic growth and environmental issues is discussed together. Students read the texts in advance, with a small group of students taking responsibility for the content. The aim is to engage in a reflective discussion of the texts and current debates.
Objective
Enhanced knowledge on ecological economics, growth critics of ecological economics, energetical-material implications of growth, consumer criticism and growth-critical traditions of thought. Reading and reflection upon scientific textes.
Content
The texts are selected by the students from a list (topics: criticism of growth, consumption, good life within planetary boundaries, distribution issues, feminist positions on criticism of growth, work, etc.).
