Industrial Chemistry
Last Updated: 2026-06-01 11:33:10
Abstract
The lecture will describe how the most important chemicals and intermediates are produced from both a chemical and chemical engineering point of view. Reaction mechanisms up to reactor design will be covered.
Objective
Basic knowledge of reaction mechanisms and reactor design of the most important chemicals and intermediates.
Content
The vast majority of all intermediates and chemicals originate from coal, oil or gas. The development of these processes over a time span of more than hundred years has resulted in fascinating chemistry and processes. The lecture will describe how the most important chemicals and intermediates are produced from both a chemical and chemical engineering point of view. Reaction mechanisms up to reactor design will be covered.
