Abstract

This introductory Laboratory course introduces the student to the entire range of classical and modern molecular biosciences. In the second year (Praktikum GL Bio II) the students will perform three praktikum days in:- Animal Models- Plant Biology(total of 6 experiments)Each experiment takes one full day.

Introduction to theoretical and experimental biology General Praktikum-information and course material: Moodle The general Praktikum information (Assignment list, Instructions and Schedule & Performance Sheet) will also be sent to the students directly (E-mail).

Content

The class is divided into two blocks: Animal Models and Plant Biology. One block lasts three weeks. ANIMAL MODELS: - Tissue structure and biology - Mouse anatomy and histology - Tissue repair and cancer PLANT BIOLOGY: - Phytohormones and other growth factors - Molecular biology of systemic gene silencing - Transport and storage - Literature reading and presentation

Ihre Anwesenheit ist an allen 6 Praktikumstagen obligatorisch. Abwesenheiten werden nur bei Vorliegen eines ärztlichen Attests akzeptiert. Über Ausnahmen in besonders dringenden Fällen entscheidet die Studiendirektorin oder der Studiendirektor des D-BIOL.Studierende, welche die Lehrveranstaltung belegt haben, aber nicht absolvieren werden, müssen die Belegung der Lehrveranstaltung bis Ende zweiter Semesterwoche löschen. Studierende, die ab Beginn der dritten Semesterwoche den Kurs belegt haben, aber nicht absolvieren, erhalten automatisch die Bewertung «Nicht-Bestanden».
