Abstract

This course addresses the unique engineering challenges in designing medical technology for underrepresented groups. The course aims to bridge the gap between technological advancement and equitable access. It emphasizes understanding the specific needs of these groups, cultural competency, and designing with inclusivity.

Objective

By the end of the course, students will: Grasp the specific engineering and technological challenges faced by underrepresented groups. Design and prototype medical technologies that cater to the unique needs of these groups. Appreciate the importance of inclusive and equitable engineering solutions.

Content

The course aspires to instill in budding engineers a sense of responsibility, the skills, and the motivation to engineer medical solutions that are genuinely inclusive, addressing the needs and challenges faced by underrepresented groups in society.
