Abstract

This course teaches the possibilities and limits of the law in order to protect natural resources and landscapes against harm and nuisance. The complexity of the legal situation will be discussed by analysing virtual and real law cases focused on spatial projects and planning. Precise writing is an important aspect in this course.

Objective

The students know the opportunities and restrictions which are given by the law when using natural resources. They have insights into the complex environmental legal system and their application in concrete cases. The students are able to formulate typical legal questions, to understand the argumentation of courts and to solve simple legal problems with respect to environmental problems. An important goal is the writing of precise written answers.

In this course, the aim is to gain in-depth-knowledge in forest law, law of landscape and nature protection and spatial planning law

Die Studierenden verfassen während des Semesters schriftliche Antworten zu vier Fällen in Teams (4-5 Personen). Die schriftlichen Antworten werden jedoch individuell oder ausnahmsweise zu zweit verfasst und bauen jeweils aufeinander auf (Person 1 beantwortet eine Frage, anschliessend vertieft Person 2 dies, anschliessend vertieft Person 3 die Antworten der Personen 1 und 2, Person 4 präsentiert die Ergebnisse). Dies ermöglicht individuelle Bewertungen. Bei Fünfergruppen erfolgt jeweils ein Bearbeitungsschritt in einer Zweiergruppe, wobei diese Zweiergruppen im Laufe des Semesters verändert werden, damit auch Einzelbearbeitungen erfolgen können. Bei vier Fällen nimmt jedes Gruppenmitglied (resp. bei Fünfergruppen auch einmal in Zweierbesetzung) einmal jede Rolle ein.Die Bewertungen erfolgen während des Semesters und werden den Studierenden jeweils nach den Präsentationen eines Falls mitgeteilt. Es gibt keine Schlussprüfung. Für die Schlussnote zählt der Durchschnitt der vier Einzelnoten.
