Abstract

The course deals with advanced topics in GIS, such as Business aspects and Legal issues; Human-Computer Interaction; Cognitive Issues in GIS; Geosensors; Big Spatial Data; Spatial Statistics; and Machine Learning for GIS.

Objective

Students will get a detailed overview of advanced GIS topics. They will work on small projects in the lab and perform practical tasks related to topics such as Spatial Statistics, Spatial Machine Learning, Big Spatial Data, Human-Computer Interaction, and Geosensors.

The grade will be determined by (i) a 30 minutes oral exam and (ii) a compulsory continuous performance assessment, i.e., lab assignments submitted during the semester. Specifically, the final grade depends 70% on the exam and 30% on the assignments.
