Practical Course of CAD and CAE Application in Projects
Praxiskurs CAD- und CAE-Anwendung in Projekten
Last Updated: 2026-02-05 16:29:54
Abstract
This course provides in-depth knowledge of CAD and serves as an introduction to FEM simulation with Siemens NX, with the aim of using CAD and CAE effectively in projects. The course is application-oriented, the topics discussed are applied 1:1 by the students and transferred to their own project work.
Objective
- Insight and application of advanced CAD modeling - Introduction to CAE simulation - Effective use of CAD and CAE tools in projects - Teaching methodical aspects - Application of the tools in a project (own projects, focus projects)
Content
CAD with Siemens NX (semester week 2, 3, 4): - Advanced CAD Modeling > parametric Modelling - Freeform Modeling - CAD modeling methodology > top-down modeling (WAVE, interpart expressions, etc.). CAE with Siemens NX (semester week 5, 6, 7): - Linear structural analysis (individual parts) - Non-linear structural analysis (contacts, assemblies) - Motion SImulation - Thermal SImulation, CFD Further tools and functions (from semester week 8): - Application of further CAD tools: Sheet Metal, Synchronous, etc. - Insight into other CAE tools, e.g. Ansys Discovery Live - methodical aspects in the field of CAD and CAE
