Resilience Building for International Cooperation
Last Updated: 2026-02-05 16:38:30
Abstract
Development cooperation can be stressful due to task complexity, on-the-ground realities and lack of measurable impacts. Geopolitical shifts and past failures are calling into question “western” models of development. This two-day course builds personal and professional resilience for development workers confronted with these challenges.
Objective
In this two-day course, participants will explore and reflect on the changing landscape of development cooperation, as well as their unique, innate capacities to harness wellbeing resources in becoming resilient within the development cooperation environment. The course will further include a balanced mix of resilience theories, country ownership implementation processes, and practice-oriented sessions from practitioners in development organizations. Scenario-building will also be employed to engage and prepare participants for anticipated occurrences related to behavioral management and safeguarding of values necessary for resilience building.
