Abstract

SESSIONS ON TERRITORY is a series of public debates on the political economy of architecture and territory.

Objective

Sessions on Territory is a series of public debates on the political economy of architecture and territory. The forthcoming series aims to understand how people perceive their position—their contributions, vulnerabilities, complicities, and anxieties—in the face of the climate crisis. Shifting analysis between the planetary scale and that of the body, we will ask in what ways do built environments structure and reflect the ways we mobilize against the effects of crisis. Each guest speaker’s intervention will be followed by a roundtable discussion with invited respondents, students, and members of the audience.

Content

The five sessions take place on selected Mondays (last session is exceptionally on Wednesday) during the spring term at the ONA DID Lab. Each guest speaker’s intervention will be followed by a roundtable discussion with moderators, invited respondents, students, and discussants from the audience. 26.02.2024 THOMAS PETER (ETH Zürich) response by Stefana Parascho 04.03.2024 CARSON CHAN & MATTHEW WAGSTAFFE (Emilio Ambasz Institute, MoMA) response by Lydia Xynogala 25.03.2024 ALEXANDER GIESCHE (Schauspielhaus Zürich) in conversation with Tanja Saban response by Gabrielle Schaad 06.05.2024 ORIT HALPERN (Technische Universität Dresden) response by Tomás Bartoletti 13.05.2024 DEBORAH COEN (Yale University) response by Debjani Bhattacharyya 22.05.2024 EVA HORN (Universität Wien) response by Laurent Stalder *exceptionally on Wednesday
