Abstract

The aim of the seminar is to present applications of homogeneous dynamics to counting lattice points problems.

Objective

We will begin with introducing some counting problems in certain varieties in euclidean space; then introduce some basic concepts in ergodic theory; finally, we will learn the method by Eskin and McMullen to count lattice points in homogenous varieties.
