Abstract
The seminar for MAS students builds on the content of the previous fall semester. It focuses on the communication of scholarly findings in historic preservation. It provides an overview of methods of communication in architecture and historic preservation and enables participants to communicate their research findings.
Objective
The goal of the seminar is to apply methods of researching and communicating objects of the built environment. Participants will be enabled to communicate a building or heritage issue they have chosen to a selected target group. Through the examination of a self-selected topic, questions can be deepened and discussed in the group.
Content
The scientific elaboration of the characteristics and peculiarities of a building or of a historical preservation issue is taken as a starting point to investigate and apply innovative methods and interfaces of public mediation. In the seminar, we devote a first part to research and analysis. In this way we lay the foundation for the second part, which deals with the independent mediation of a building or topic to be determined individually. The course takes place in alternation with the MAS course "Practical Preservation of Monuments" (lecturer Reto Wasser).
