Abstract
The lecture imparts basic knowledge of the major processes of sheet metal, tube and bulk metal forming technologies. In particular fundamental computation methods, which allow a fast assessment of the process behaviour and a rough layout, are discussed. Process-specific states of stress and deformation are analysed and process limits are identified.

Kennenlernen umformtechnischer Verfahren. Wahl des Umformverfahrens. Auslegung einer umformtechnischen Fertigung.
Content
Grundlagen umformtechnischer Verfahren. Einführung in die wichtigsten Blech-, Rohr- und Massivumformverfahren. Gestaltung der Fertigungsfolge. Einfluss von Prozessparametern auf das Umformverhalten. Verfahrensgrenzen. Aufbau von Umformwerkzeugen und Umformanlagen. Anwendungsbeispiele: Fertigung von Karosseriekomponenten, Pharmaverpackungen, space frame Fahrzeugkomponenten, Fliesspressteilen oder Halbzeugen (Blech, Rohr, Draht, Strangpressprofile)
