The course gives an introduction to digital mapping in geosciences from data collection to the final map construction, focusing on the practical application of different digital mapping tools to produce a modern geological map.

Objective

The students are able to: • prepare a tablet for the field work; • work in the field using a tablet to map lithological contacts and structures, and acquire georeferenced structural data, field notes, field pictures; • process the data acquired in the field and produce a geological map in digital format
