Practical Training in Bioinformatics
Last Updated: 2026-02-05 16:38:45
Abstract
Students will be introduced to the UNIX operating system and advance their programming skills in python and R. Following the biological genotype-to-phenotype concept, students will learn to analyse DNA sequences, protein structures and imaging-captured phenotypes through weekly lectures and homework assignments.
Objective
Students will know the basic tools, databases and programming languages as they are used in applied bioinformatics. They will be able to process, transform and examine nucleotide sequences, protein structures and imaging data, which will empower them to solve problems in the field of biology.
