Abstract

This laboratory course focuses on research topics in the Corn lab related to CRISPR-Cas genome engineering, the role of DNA repair in metazoan genome editing, the development of preclinical proof-of-concept for genome editing therapies, and the use of genome editing to investigate fundamental questions in blood cells. Projects will be conducted in small groups.

Objective

This course will introduce technologies and approaches in modern genome engineering. The main focus is on practical work to familiarize participants with techniques such as functional genomics, biochemistry, human cell biology, and next generation sequencing. Results will be presented by students in several scientific presentations.

Content

The course will include topics related to ongoing research projects in the lab. Experimental work will include methods such as CRISPR-Cas genome engineering, CRISPR-Cas screening, cloning, mammalian transformation, human cell biology, flow cytometry, and biochemistry.
