This course will be offered for the last time in Spring Semester 2024. The examination can be taken/repeated for the last time in the first two weeks of Autumn Semester 2024.The final grade is based on a written exam and optional learning tasks. The latter concern the understanding, discussion, and presentation of selected publications, related to the topics treated in the lecture. The exam takes place during the examination session. The learning tasks may contribute 0.25 grade points to the final grade, but only if it helps improving the final grade. The learning tasks include written assignments and presentations:• Students will be divided into 10 groups (max. 5 students per group). On fixed dates (5 in total), two groups will present and discuss one paper each. The first date is scheduled for March 16.• Written assignments: Each group will be given one week to read the paper carefully and address some relevant aspects and questions in written form (length 1.5-2 pages). We estimate the time required to be about 2-3 hours.• Presentation: Each group will also have to present two papers during the course of the semester (about 10' each).• The written assignments and the presentation will be graded separately (pass/fail). The bonus of 0.25 points is achieved if the group successfully carries out the two presentations and 4 out of 5 assignments. A malus is not foreseen.
