- graded semester performance
The colloquium is examined after the end of the semester. There are two parts to the 150-min exam, with points divided equally between them. The first part consists of 8-10 short questions, based on some of the colloquium presentations that take place during the semester. The second part is an essay question based on one of the presentations, usually by an external visiting professor. The essay is graded for content, scientific writing and correct scientific nomenclature. The title of this question is provided at least 2 weeks prior to the exam such that further reading and preparation is possible.
