Abstract
This course is concerned with design and practical stress analysis of typical aircraft structural elements and components It is complemented by calculation exercises and discussion of real-world problems.
Objective
Main goal is to develop a solid understanding to solve engineering problems related to structural design, strength analysis and stability of aircraft structures.
Content
- Aircraft design - Aircraft materials - Bending, shear and torsion of thin-walled beams - Aircraft loads - Wing & empennage structures: Design and modelling, multi-cell design, ribs - Structural instability of aircraft structures - Fuselage structures: Design & modelling, buckling, analysis of fuselage frames - Plane stress elements and load introduction
