Content

We want to study quantum information theory from a mathematical perspective in the language of operator algebras. We will not assume any knowledge of operator algebras and only assume Functional Analysis I which can be taken parallel to the seminar. The first part of the seminar will be on operator algebras in general. We will then study applications such as Lindblad’s result on open quantum systems, quantum statistical physics and modern applications in quantum computing with an emphasis on mathematical concepts.
