Abstract

Interactions of the geometry of numbers with other fields in mathematics and science. The seminar will be in English.

Objective

To explore interactions of the geometry of numbers with other fields in mathematics and science.

Content

We will begin with a few introductory talks on geometry of numbers, and then proceed to its interactions with other topics in mathematics (such as quadratic forms, homogeneous dynamics etc.), and other sciences (in computer science - cryptography, linear programming and more. In chemistry - crystallography). Students are more than welcome to suggest ideas according to their own interests.
