Abstract

The course deals with advanced topics in GIS, such as Business aspects and Legal issues; Human-Computer Interaction; Cognitive Issues in GIS; Geosensors; Big Spatial Data; and Machine Learning for GIS.

Objective

Students will get a detailed overview of advanced GIS topics. They will work on small projects in the lab and perform practical tasks related to topics such as Machine Learning, Human-Computer Interaction, and Geosensors.

Examination

Mode: oral 30 minutes

The grade will be determined by (i) a 30 minutes oral exam and (ii) a compulsory continuous performance assessment, i.e., lab assignments submitted during the semester. Specifically, the final grade depends 70% on the exam and 30% on the assignments.
