Quantitative Approaches to Plant Population and Community Ecology
Last Updated: 2026-02-05 16:23:32
Abstract
This course presents leading problems in plant ecology and the quantitative tools to address them. Example topics include plant population models to assess population viability; quantifying invasive species spread; and assessing the robustness of biological networks to perturbations. Exact topics depend on emerging problems in the field and existing expertise within the Plant Ecology Group.
Objective
Students will attain deep insight into topics at the cutting edge of plant ecological research, whilst developing specific skills that can later be applied to basic and applied ecological problems.
