Abstract

The objective of this two-semester seminar-style course is to write an advanced-level research paper in the field of Strategic Studies. In the first part, students develop a research design. In the second part, they write the seminar paper and present it in plenary.

Objective

The seminar is conducted in two groups over two semesters. The goal of the seminar is to develop a research question within the framework of a topic of strategic studies, conduct research on it, write a research paper, and present it in plenary. Based on the methodological skills acquired in the proseminar, students are expected to write a qualitatively demanding paper, which serves as preparation for the B.A. thesis.

Content

In the first part of the course, students will read and discuss selected research literature to familiarize themselves with the topic of the seminar. On this basis, they will develop a research design. In addition, the seminar will address methodological issues and challenges. In the second part, students will write their seminar papers and present them in class.
