Abstract

This is a two-semester course introducing students into the foundations of Modern Physics. Topics include electricity and magnetism, light, waves, quantum physics, solid state physics, and semiconductors. Selected topics with important applications in industry will also be considered.

Objective

The lecture is intended to promote critical, scientific thinking. Key concepts of Physics will be acquired, with a focus on technically relevant applications. At the end of the two semesters, students will have a good overview over the topics of classical and modern Physics.

Formelsammlung von 5 Blättern A4 (10 Seiten), selbst verfasst (handgeschrieben oder per Computer). Taschenrechner (ohne Kommunikationsfunktion und Massenspeicher). Math. Tafeln und Formeln: nach DMK/DPK/DCK, Bronstein, Papula, FoTaBe. Wörterbuch für Fremdsprachige.
Im Sinne der Lernelemente kann, basierend auf der Leistung in den Übungen der beiden Vorlesungen Physik I und II, für die Schlussnote ein Bonus von 0.25 Notenpunkten pro Vorlesung angerechnet werden. Die Maximalnote 6 für die Lerneinheit kann auch erreicht werden, wenn nur die Schlussprüfung absolviert wird. Die Notenboni aus Physik I und Physik II werden für den jeweiligen Prüfungsteil getrennt angewandt. Die Schlussnote ergibt sich aus dem Mittel der Noten der einzelnen Prüfungsteile.Die im HS22/FS23 ergatterte Boni gelten für die Prüfungssessionen Sommer 2023 und Winter 2024, danach verfallen sie.Bitte beachten Sie, dass die Prüfung ab der Wintersession 2024/25 neu aus einer zweistündigen schriftlichen sowie einer 30minütigen mündlichen Prüfung besteht.

Beginnt in der zweiten Semesterwoche. Zusätzlich wird das Study Center angeboten: Montags 18-20 ab der 3. Semesterwoche im HG F 1 wo die Möglichkeit des betreuten Lernens angeboten wird. Im Study Center können Studierende Vorlesungsstoff vor- oder nachbereiten und Übungen lösen.
