Mobile radio channels as linear deterministic/stochastic systems; WSSUS property; fading models; diversity and combining; interference; binary signalling; spread spectrum and CDMA in cellular mobile radio systems; receiver design; conventional and joint detection; synchronisation; demodulation in UMTS; theory and application of spread-spectrum techniques. Channels of wireless narrowband and broadband systems, modelling; propagation of electromagnetic waves (reflection, refraction, scattering, absorption); antenna structures, characteristics, feeding; impedance matching; design of radio links; electromagnetic compatibility of wireless systems with the environment.
