Objective

The forestry service must be responsible for a comprehensive protection against natural hazards. The danger of avalanches plays an important role in this issue. Therefore, we must impart forest engineers with the fundamentals for competent treatment of avalanche protection measures for inhabited areas, roads and transport infrastructures.
