Objective

Understanding of the basic principles of diastereoselective synthesis

Content

Conformational analysis: acyclic and cyclic systems; Diastereoselective sigmatropic rearrangements; Metallation reactions; Diastereoselective Carbonyl addition reactions: Cram- and Felkin-Anh models, carbonyl Lewis acid interactions, chelate controlled reactions; Chemistry of enolates, selective formation; Aldol reactions, allyl- and crotyl-metal chemistry; Chemistry of C-Si bonds, cyclisations, Baldwin rules; Olefin synthesis; Diastereoselective olefin functionalization: hydroboration, dihydroxylation, epoxidation; Diels-Alder reactions.
