Objective
Part 1: How do you give a good lecture? Part 2: How do you write a scientific report?
Content
Part I, presentations: Students learn a) to prepare a scientific presentation: Identifying the audience, collecting material and information, structuring the presentation, visualization, and b) to deliver the presentation: Voice, intonation and gestures. Every student has to prepare and to make a presentation on a prescribed topic from science or medicine, and also to chair a series of presentations. Part II, reports: Students learn to prepare a scientific report: Types of reports, elements of a report, identifying goal, gathering material, structuring a report, scientific language, correct citations, illustrations. Each student has to write a 5-pages report including pictures and references on a prescribed topic from science or medicine, and also to discuss other students’ reports.
