Architectural Design V-IX: Reuse... selon arrivage (GD Buser)
Entwurf V-IX: Wiederverwendung... selon arrivage (GD Buser)
Last Updated: 2026-02-05 16:08:50
Abstract
The design process is turned upside down!In addition to the practical work, highly motivated speakers impart a wide range of knowledge on the topics of recycling management, CO2 balance, pollutants and component logistics. Reuse projects that have already been implemented will be presented and inspected.
Objective
- Respect for the existence, recognizing the identity - Reversal of the design process, construction with salvaged/found materials - Component hunting (dismantling, component logistics) - Circular construction, dismantling, circular economy - Calculation of CO2 savings if reused - Insight into the economic side of reuse
Content
The component reuse studio is divided into three phases: 1. Handling of components and material, component hunting and dismantling. Through dismantling workshops, the students will learn the practice of dismantling. 2. The students will continue to deal with the collected components in order to design and construct building systems and elements. The result will be a 1:1 construction. 3. We apply the researched construction systems and elements to a specific construction task and convince the clients of the circular economy.
