Architectural Design V-IX: Sustainable Densification of Europark Antwerp Linkeroever (Boltshauser)
Entwurf V-IX: Europark Antwerpens Linkeroever nachhaltig verdichten (GD Boltshauser)
Last Updated: 2026-02-05 16:08:50
Abstract
The city of Antwerp is currently developing the master plan for the left bank of the Scheldt. We take this as an opportunity to engage with the site in discourse with the city administration and specialists. We want to contribute to the development of the masterplan with an analytical design process.
Objective
• Addressing dense, sustainable, simple building from the master plan to the individual building. • Development of a broad theoretical knowledge about a topic in order to integrate the resulting findings into a project • Holistic design of spatial atmospheres in the interplay of context, construction, climate, sustainability and materiality • Practical work with models and visualization programs will be used as part of the design process
Content
The Linkeroever in Antwerp, especially the Europark, is to be analyzed in the coming semester. From this, the possibilities for spatial re-densification and a sustainable vision for the future will be developed in the form of a master plan. Based on this, a specific project will be designed. Urban planning, architectural, use-specific, functional, social, spatial, design, static, constructive and sustainable aspects will be worked on holistically - always in conjunction with the overarching vision.low
