Abstract

This course engrosses the close to practice application of geographic information systems by means of self-dependent case studies (project work), being handled by small teams.The students elaborate a project schedule, conceive an analysis workflow, effect a multi-stage analysis within the context of an environmental problem and present their results to the course plenum.

Objective

The students ... - deepen selected theoretical and practical skills of the GIST Bachelor course on a specified case; - are able to acquaint themselves independently with complex spatial problems; - can develop the necessary data and process models for the implementation; - can independently manage and execute a project from planning to presentation; - learn to work together with scientists of applied research.
