Objective
Basic understanding of the manufacturing processes and applications of technical textiles. Properties of selected fabrics, non-wovens and ropes. General principles of the combination of processes required to achieve the requested functional properties of textiles.
Content
Starting with special textile fibers, the different manufacturing processes for technical textiles are explained. Focus is on the processes that allow the targeted modification and enhancemet of special product properties. The applications of technical textiles in air- and spacecraft, medical parts and equipment, civil engineering, agriculture, machinery and vehicles, as well as building construction and architecture are discussed.
