Abstract

Introduction in time-dependent behaviour of buildings and structural elements in operation. Teaching of basic knowledge concerning planning and executing maintenance as well as reconstructing structural works under operation.

Objective

Transfer of fundamental knowledge for planning construction execution processes for maintenance and rehabilitation of civil and infrastructures as well as the associated methods.

Content

- Ageing and abrasion: economic and juristic relevance, definitions, ageing and abrasion phenomena, estimation of conditions - Planning of projects of preservation: aims of preservation, tasks of preservation, activities of maintenance, documentation of buildings, recording of current state, inspection, survey of preservation, urgent measures, strategy of preservation, projects of conservation, procedure of planning and structural work, organisation of projects, deadlines and costs, archiving and organise information - Juristic and ecological aspects: authorisations and permissions, energy saving, choosing materials, deconstruction - Construction work under operation: job preparation, organisation of construction sites, planning of labour, equipment and operations, interaction between processes of utilisation and constructing, risks, immission, safety - Processes of reconstruction: construction method for reconstructing structures of reinforced concrete or steel in the areas of structural engineering, bridges, sewage network, tunnels - Deconstruction: procedure and instruments for deconstruction, reuse and disposal of structural works and materials
