Transfer of detailled knowledge of tunneling methods for excavation in hard rock as well as in soft ground.
Objective
Advanced knowledge of tunneling techniques as well as professional skill to apply the construction methods under various project specific boundery conditions.

- History and relevance of tunneling - Geology: rock classification - Univerrsal drives: drill and blast excavation, road header excavation, methods of rock support, mucking methods and transport logistic. - shotcrete; temporary drainage systems; lining systems; - pipe umbrellas; methods of face support; - TBM Tunnel Boring Machines for hard rock - Hydro and EPB Shield machines for soft ground - Site installation - HSE - Cycle time analysis for optimization of the overall process
