Abstract

Methods, tools and processes in large scale landscape architectural design. On the basis of a case study, «Basel», we shall discuss these themes in lectures and practical exercises. The design-led approach will be extended with a series of talks that will establish a theoretical grounding in current issues of landscape- and urban design.

Objective

On the basis of theoretical foundations the one-week teaching block explains the possibili-ties and methods of design at different stages of the process. The students will become sensitive to current and future issues and approaches of landscape on a large scale, with the aim that they will engage with critical debate on the topic and take their own position.
