Understanding the Future City

Abstract
This conference focuses on the research transactions that are important for future cities research. In particular it addresses the methodologies, approaches, research tools and techniques that support future cities research.
Objective
The conference aims to support PhD researchers from diverse disciplinary backgrounds to develop the methodogical aspects of their work. It allows individual researchers to present the current status of their work, to hear from other researchers in similar or related fields and to contribute to wider discussions on current and emerging methodologies for research on future cities.
Content
This conference is focused on methodologies needed for researching sustainable future cities. It features sessions specifically designed for PhD researchers from diverse disciplinary backgrounds. Researchers are offered 20 minutes paper slots, followed by discussion. Researchers based in Singapore and Zurich are paired around common themes. Larger thematic and plenary sessions contribute to discussions on emerging methodologies, research tools and techniques.
