Abstract

The module provides an introduction to road traffic engineering. After a thematic classification of traffic control systems, the fundamentals of traffic flow theory are taught.

Objective

- capacity analysis of roads - capacity analysis of non-signalized intersections -- Introduction to traffic signal systems and control methods - Fixed time signal program calculation and simulation with PTV Vissim - Modeling of highway control - Practical at-home exercise with PTV Vissim
