Abstract
Topics in Riemannian geometry in the large: the structure of complete, non-compact Riemannian manifolds of non-negative sectional curvature, including Perelman's (1994) proof of the Cheeger-Gromoll soul conjecture; the Besson-Courtois-Gallot barycenter method (1996) and the proofs of the minimal entropy theorem and the Mostow rigidity theorem for rank one locally symmetric spaces.
