Abstract

The lecture covers the basics of classical mechanics.

Objective

The aim of this lecture is to become familiar with the central concepts of classical mechanics, to test and consolidate basic concepts and physical intuition, and to be able to describe and solve problems with applications from everyday life and technology with the tools learned.

- Inertia, equations of motion, Newton's laws, forces and system boundaries - Energy, impulse, rocket launch - Central forces, celestial mechanics - Tidal/apparent forces, resting and accelerated reference systems - Rotational motion - Basic properties of deformable bodies - Vibrations and resonance phenomena, waves

Als Lernelement wird die aktive Teilnahme im Übungsbetrieb bewertet.Für eine erfolgreiche aktive Teilnahme wird erwartet, dass mehr als die Hälfte der Übungsserien selbständig bearbeitet und eingereicht wurden (7 oder mehr von 13 Übungsserien zu mindestens 60%). Ist die aktive Teilnahme erfüllt, werden zur ungerundeten Prüfungsnote 0.25 Notenpunkte hinzu addiert.
