Economic background and requirements for spatial planning related to intensifying regional competitiveness in a changing world. Understanding of spatially relevant economic relationships and driving forces. Assessment of spatial concepts, policies and measures. Development of new concepts for the spatial development policy at different levels (local, regional, national, international).
