The written examination accounts for 75% of the final grade. In addition to the final written examination, there is a compulsory continuous performanceassessment in the form of four practical laboratory units. Of these four laboratorysessions, at least three must be prepared and attended in order to pass the course.Preparation and active participation means that each student has to keep a laboratorybook in which materials & methods, personal observations, results and comments on eachlaboratory are reported. This transcript is handed in directly after the laboratory sessionand will be graded. The average of the best three written records counts 25% to the finalgrade.
