Abstract

Introduction to the concepts and basics of navigation related total systems on land, air, sea and space

Objective

The students gain an overview of human spatial navigation concepts as well as modern navigation systems and their major principles. The students are able to deepen their knowledge by their own and recognize and understand principles of systems in different applications.

Content

Concepts of human spatial navigation, Reference systems, Navigation principles, Statistics in Navigation, Filtering, Basics of state space control systems, Satellite navigation systems, Vehicle nav, Air traffic control systems, Spacecraft and autonomous navigation.
