Objective

To recognise the basics of forest law at national and cantonal levels and to have an overview on the legal practice of the Federal Court with respect to the conservation and management of forests.

Content

Origin, development and content of Swiss and cantonal forest laws. Legal basis for forest protection and conserva-tion; forest management and its financing, the co-ordination with spatial planning, the different types of legal proce-dures, the supporting and the organisation of the forest authorities. Outlook on new developments in the national and cantonal forest legislation.
