Introduction to the basic principles of planning, carrying out and evaluating large-scale forest investigations using random sampling.
Content
Overview of large-scale forest inventories, systematics, objectives and planning of forest inventories, concepts for follow-up inventories, use of remote sensing in forest inventories, optimisation of random sampling inventories, in-vestigations into forest condition, stock and growth estimation, assessment of forest functions in particular protec-tive functions, forest inventories in the tropics.
